(2.9) Needs of Living Organisms
Overview
Students learn about the basic needs of organisms and how their environment affects their growth and behavior. They also learn about interdependence of organisms and how they interact with their environment.

(2.9A) Plant and Animal Needs
The student is expected to identify the basic needs of plants and animals.

(2.9B) Effects of Environments on Plants and Animals
The student is expected to identify factors in the environment, including temperature and precipitation that affect growth and behavior such as migration, hibernation, and dormancy of living things.

(2.9C) Interdependency of Organisms
The student is expected to compare and give examples of the ways living organisms depend on each other and on their environments such as food chains within a garden, park, beach, lake, and wooded area.
