Overview
Fourth graders look at energy flow throw environments beginning with the sun. They also look at adaptations and likenesses between parents and offspring, as well as life cycles of plants and insects.

(4.9) Ecosystems
Fourth graders learn about energy flow through food webs, originating with the Sun’s energy used by producers and through consumers.

(4.10) Adaptation and Life Cycles
Students explore how adaptations help organisms survive in their environment, and how likenesses are passed from parent to offspring, from generation to generation through inheritance, while other likenesses are learned behaviors. Students also look at insect and plant life cycles.
