Overview
By examining organisms and their environments students learn about patterns, systems and cycles that affect the survival of living things. Students also learn about characteristics of organisms, their inherited traits, and their learned behaviors.

(3.9) Environments
Third graders explore the effect of environments and environmental changes on the organisms that inhabit them.

(3.10) Adaptations and Life Cycles
Students learn how inherited traits, structures, and functions of plants and animals as well as learned behaviors help organisms to survive within their particular environment. They also explore life cycles of tomato plants, frogs, and lady bugs.
