Overview
Students use careful observation and investigation to learn about the natural environment and its patterns and properties. By developing their investigation skills, students learn how the information they discover can be used to make everyday decisions.

(2.7) Earth Materials
Students learn about the natural world by observing and describing rocks. They also learn about freshwater and saltwater and learn to distinguish between natural and manmade resources.

(2.8) Earth and Sky Patterns
By building their investigation skills, students observe weather, understand weather information, and use this information to make everyday choices. Students also explore the water cycle and how that relates to weather conditions as well as patterns of objects in the sky.
