(1.6A) Forms of Energy
Overview
Students will identify and discuss how different forms of energy such as light, heat, and sound are important to everyday life.
Several important concepts are embedded within this TEKS objective. Each concept is presented on its own page (see links below).

Heat Energy
Thermal energy is a form of kinetic energy and is critical to life on earth. Students build a basic understanding of heat energy and how it can be used to make baked crayon art.

Light Energy
Students explore light energy by identifying different sources of light, and by looking at the importance of light for photosynthetic plants.

Sound Energy
Students explore the sounds different materials make and build and understanding that sound energy is vibration.
